Students from all over the world have begun their Higher Education with
a Language Link University Preparation Course. Our programmes
focus on improving your English language and developing the skills you
will require for academic study at a UK university.
Language Link cooperates with
Greenwich Community College to
provide university preparation and foundation degree programmes designed
to facilitate entry into leading UK universities. Greenwich
Community College is a Partner College of the University of Greenwich
and is a publicly funded institution providing full and part-time
courses to around 14,000 students. The College is included in the
DfES Register of Education and Training Providers and is an Education UK
Partner accredited by the British Council. The College holds a
highly commended
Beacon Award for International Student Support in 2003-2004.

Academic Study Year
(33 weeks, 20 lessons per week)
An integrated study programme
focused on the development of communication and study skills, combined
with an IELTS preparation course. The course consists of a
combination of English language training to qualify you for entry into a
UK university, and study skills to help you integrate into the
British academic system.

University Foundation Year
(41 weeks, 25 lessons per week)
An intensive preparatory programme
designed to equip you with the language and academic skills needed to
succeed in the British university system. This flexible and
modular programme provides an effective and personalised pathway to many
degree courses in a range of subjects. You will be given advice on
choosing a suitable university, assistance with the application process
and the use of the university prospectus library.

General and Academic English
training to help you acquire and
develop the necessary language skills to cope with
undergraduate study delivered in English and the required academic
knowledge to successfully undertake an IELTS
examination and an undergraduate degree

Computer Skills: learn the basics
of Word, Excel and PowerPoint and practise the skills you acquire
through task-based
project work assessed by the course tutor

A range of personal Study Skills
will be taught to develop your learning autonomy and introduce you to
studying styles
required for undergraduate study

IELTS Preparation Course
(15 lessons per week)
If you are planning to study at a
UK university, you will need to take the IELTS examination. The
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an
academic-based examination which tests your ability in Reading, Writing,
Listening and Speaking. The test is graded from 0-9, and most
universities require a score of 6.0-7.5 (Upper-Intermediate to Advanced
level).IELTS tests can be taken
every week at a cost of approximately £90. Please note that
Language Link offers an IELTS preparation course, but is not a testing

class contains 3 x 50 minute lessons and 2 x 10 minute breaks
* The maximum group size is 16 (morning classes) and 18 (afternoon classes)
* Students studying for 3 weeks or longer are required to purchase the
coursebook for
their level
