If you are considering
teaching English abroad or would like to find out more about TEFL, the
TEFL Taster Day is for you. This is a structured day of activities
and events and by the end of the day you will have a clear idea whether
TEFL is for you.
At the end of the day you'll receive a certificate to say that you have
attended the TEFL Taster Day course and a voucher which is redeemable
against the Language Link London full and part-time Cambridge CELTA
courses.

Content & Structure
09.30 - 10.00am - Icebreakers
A fun start to the day with practical classroom activities
guaranteed to build rapport.
10.00am - 10.30am - Introduction to CELTA / CertTESOL
A short presentation about what the courses involve and
what you can do with them.
10.30am - 11.00am - Foreign Language Lesson
Experience what it's like to be a language learner and see
your tutor demonstrate current classroom techniques.
11.00am - 11.15am - Tea / Coffee Break
11.15am - 11.45am - Classroom Management:
How do they do it?
Find out how to be in charge of your classroom!
11.45am - 12.30pm - English Language Systems
How to approach teaching English grammar - very useful for
those CELTA / Cert-TESOL application forms and interviews.
12.30pm - 1.30pm Lunch Break
Get a tasty snack from one of the many nearby shops or
restaurants.
1.30pm - 2.00pm - Teaching Preparation
Your tutor will give you valuable guidance on what and how
to teach.
2.00pm - 3.00pm - Teaching Practice
Experience for yourself first hand what it's like to teach
with your tutor on hand to give guidance and support.
3.00pm - 3.15pm - Tea / Coffee Break
3.15pm onwards - Jobs Slot
An outline of job and career opportunities in the UK and
abroad, general questions and answers.
At the end of the day all participants are presented with a Certificate
and a redeemable £45 voucher.
Please note that the Certificate IS NOT a replacement for the
Cambridge CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL certificates.
