How many hours will I work?

You will work for up to 35 hours per week, depending on your Placement.

How much will I earn?
The internship is unpaid, but the experience is invaluable!

Where in the United Kingdom will the Placement take place?
The companies are mostly located in London (all zones) and range from small businesses to large corporations.  You must expect to travel to work as other city dwellers do, via public transport for distances of up to 1 hour from your accommodation.

Can I specify the size of company?
It is a good idea to let us know if you would like to work in a small, medium or large company.  We will try to accommodate your
preferences whenever possible.

Will I have an interview before I start?
Yes, we will arrange up to 3 job interviews for you.

How many Placements will I be offered?
Usually you will only be offered 1 Placement.

How much information will I receive before I start work?
Once you have been offered a Placement, your employer will provide you with further details of your position.

What kind of English course will I take before starting the Placement?
You will study a General English course at Language Link for a minimum of 4 weeks.  When you arrive at the school you will take a written test and have a personal interview with the Director of Studies who will chose the most suitable level for you.  During the course you will be given regular tests by your teacher to assess your progress.

What obligations do I have during my Placement?
Please see the 'The student agrees to...' section in the Terms & Conditions for full details.

What should I do if I have a problem once the Placement has started?
You should contact Language Link to discuss any problems you may have with your Placement.  We will do our best to help.

Can I change my Placement if is does not suit me?
This is only possible (up to half way through the Placement) if you find that the work is not what was reasonably agreed on and confirmed by you on the Placement Confirmation form.

Will I receive a certificate at the end of my Placement?
Yes, you will receive 2 certificates: 1 for your English course, and 1 for your Work Placement.  Your employer may also agree, at their discretion, to provide you with a reference.

Will accommodation and meals be provided, or will I have to pay for this?
Accommodation and living expenses are not included in the price of the Programme.
