Assessment
and Assignments
Language Systems and Language Skills Assignments (LSA's)
There are four of these, each requiring a written background, a lesson plan, the
teaching of the class and post lesson written reflection. Three LSA's will be
observed and assessed by Language Link tutors and one by an external assessor. Two different
levels must be included. Classes must have no fewer than five adult learners and
on at least one occasion, 10 or more.
Written Assignments
There are three of these:
* on designing a course for a group of learners
* on materials and resources
* on some aspect of teaching previously unfamiliar to the teacher (e.g. Silent
Way, use of computers)
The Extended Assignment
A Case Study giving an in-depth profile of one learner of English (4000 words
approximately).
Written Examination
One paper of three and half hours comprising three questions, all of
which provide ELT material for the candidate to analyse and comment on. Candidates
are no longer required to write formal academic essays.
Our courses lead up to the examination
either in December or June.
