Grundtvig Programme

EU Funded Teacher Development Programmes

Language Link offers a series of Teacher Development Courses in London in conjunction with the Grundtvig Programme.  Our courses help participants to develop professionally by exploring their own experience and sharing ideas with colleagues from other European countries.
If you are an EFL teacher resident in an EU country, you can apply to Grundtvig for funding of your course. 
You can apply for a grant of up to €2000 for 1 course or €2500 for 2 courses.
   

 

Funding for each programme covers:    

  

  • Course fees
  • Return travel to the UK
  • Half-board single room accommodation with an English-speaking host
  • All course materials
  • Course certificate
  • Subsistence costs while on the course

1.     Select a teacher development course from the programme below

2.     Email dos@languagelink.co.uk to request an application form

3.     Complete and return your application form to us

4.     Apply to your National Agency for funding by the deadline below

 

 Deadlines for applications for Grundtvig funding:

 

 16 January 2012 for courses starting between 1 May 2012 and 31 August 2012

 30 April 2012 for courses starting between 1 September and 31 December 2012

 17 September 2012 for courses starting between 1 January 2013 and 30 April 2013

Professional Development for Teachers of English as a Foreign Language

The Professional Development programme focuses on practical ideas and activities which will help teachers to bring more variety into their classroom management and teaching techniques.  Units will include the use of technology, learner autonomy and observing and analysing EFL lessons.   

 

Creative Methodology for Teachers of English as a Foreign Language

The Creative Methodology programme explores a range of teaching aids and methodologies based around Multiple Intelligence Theory and the concept that students have different approaches to their learning. Ways of inspiring and motivating students will also be discussed.  

 

Practical Pronunciation for Teachers of English as a Foreign Language

The Practical Pronunciation Programme focuses on techniques for teaching pronunciation to learners of English and for identifying and correcting their errors. Participants will build on and consolidate their knowledge of the tools available to teachers for improving students' pronunciation skills. 


British Culture for Teachers of English as a Foreign Language

The British Culture Programme is designed to consolidate and update participants’ knowledge about the UK and suggest ways in which this can be used to enhance their work in the English language classroom.

 

Preparation and Feedback

Once we have accepted your application, orientation and a reading list will be provided to help you prepare.  We invite you to tell us your needs, goals and expectations before you begin the course in order to tailor the programme to your requirements, and we will provide you with detailed evaluation and feedback on completion of the course.
